Bartholomew Seeker was born in Halifax in 1919. He studied at the Normal School in Edmonton at the University of Alberta from 1937 - 1940 to become a teacher. Although he had an interest in alternative geographies and maps of the world most of his life, he became interested in the Flat Earth Society of Canada while teaching in Fredericton in the 1960s He took a teaching position on Fogo Island, the location of one of the corners of the Flat Earth in 1971. There, his more important and lesser-known mission was to act as a guardian of the corner.

"Snapshots of Bartholomew at his home on Fogo Island”
These are just a couple of several miscellaneous snapshots that were found amongst Bartholomew’s belongings. Although all information gathered about Bartholomew indicates he was mostly a recluse during his time in Fogo (other than going to the school to teach), someone had to have taken these shots. It is assumed that these were taken when his friend, Flat Earth Society president Leo Ferrari from Fredericton, came to visit.
